RS jacks satellite ad fees by a full 40%

RS Plc, the country's second-largest entertainment company, increased its advertising airtime charges for its satellite television channels by 40% this year.

Ong-art Singlampong (left), director of Channel 8, and Pornpan Techarungchaikul, COO of RS, are planning to make the channel the entertainment variety leader this year.

Pornpan Techarungchaikul, the chief operating officer, said the rise in rates corresponds to improvements in the ratings system for satellite TV by Nielsen Company (Thailand), which tripled the number of survey samples.
