Lending up 15% last year

The banking system's lending accelerated in 2011 even though the floods caused a sharp decline in the fourth quarter, says the Bank of Thailand.
Bank lending grew 15% last year, up from 11% in 2010. Corporate loans, accounting for 70% of all loans, grew 15% after a 7% rise in 2010.
Loans to SMEs grew 14%, up from 7%. But consumer lending growth slowed to 15%, down from 17%.
