Most Thai small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are not ready to compete in the Asean Economic Community in almost every regard, and they must improve quickly to avoid losing out to Asean competitors, says a new survey.
The report by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) showed 73.3% of Thai SMEs still have no knowledge of the AEC.
Agriculture, construction, wholesale and retail, education, health and spa, and transportation SMEs are not competitive in terms of capital, personnel potential, production technology or quality of goods and services.
