Malaysia is seeking to reverse a stagnation in visitor arrivals from South Asia with a rapid-fire marketing and promotional tour through five primary and secondary cities of India and Pakistan, its first overseas roadshow of 2102.
In 2011, Malaysia received a total of 693,056 visitors from India and is targeting 720,000 this year. The 2011 figure was a virtually no-growth situation over 690,849 arrivals in 2010.
Visitors arrivals from Pakistan totalled 73,046 and the target for 2012 is at least 75,000.
