Diesel tax exemption extended

The cabinet has agreed to extend the exemption of diesel from excise tax for another month, to March 31, Pakdihan Himathongkam, deputy government spokesman, said on Wednesday.

The excise tax exemption on diesel was to expire on Feb 29.

Mr Pakdihan said the decision was aimed at reducing the burden of fuel costs on the people at a time of rising global oil prices.

They have no real control ..they should be capping fuel and fuel prices they must start forcing big businesses and profiteers from pulling this country and the world down the plug. Nobody seems to think about what is the world going to be like in 10 yrs time when only the super rich control eveything and the rest of us are starving!

All though the current government has plenty of issues that one could criticize, diesel subsidy should not be one of them. Diesel has been subsidized for many years by many governments.

After already having the cab drivers suing them, the Puea Thaksin government does not dare to challenge transport business with additional fuel increases. They will keep the exepmtion until they have total judicial and military control of the country.

The Puea Thaksin government is slowly sinking and we are going down with them.
