The restructuring of Thailand's sugar industry is likely to begin as early as the next crushing season in November this year if the government approves a study by the Thailand Development Research Institute (TDRI).
A price float is possible, but if and when is up to authorities.
Industry Minister M.R. Pongsvas Svasti said the study, which focuses on floating sugar prices, will be an important mechanism in determining the system to be used in the 2012-2013 season starting November this year.
