Economists see brighter outlook

Leading economists believe the economy in the second quarter of the year will be improved over the first quarter and that the outlook is brighter over the next three to six months, Bangkok Poll said on Thursday.
The Research Centre at Bangkok University, or Bangkok Poll, conducted a survey on “confidence index of economists on the Thai economy over the next 3-6 months” from April 22 to 25. The pollsters questioned 60 economists from the country’s leading economic agencies.
Bangkok Poll reported that the economists’ overall confidence in the present economy stood at 47.31 but still below 50, reflecting the fact that the respondents thought the Thai economy was still weak.
