BoI applications up sharply in first half

Applications for Board of Investment (BoI) privileges in the first half of this year topped 478 billion baht, almost double the 242 billion in the same period last year.
The number of projects rose by 26% in the first six months to 1,057, underscoring investor confidence in Thailand's prospects.
Services and utilities accounted for the biggest share by value, with 227 projects and investment capital of 116 billion baht.
