MEA opens electric-car charging station

Thailand's first station to charge electric vehicles (EV) opened Wednesday at the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA)'s headquarters on Phloenchit Road.

Mr Arthorn (left) and Payungsak Chartsutipol, chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries, try the first charge at the MEA’s headquarters on Phloenchit Road on Wednesday.

Although Thailand only has three EV cars, given to MEA by Mitsubishi Motors, MEA plans to raise awareness among the public about these environmentally friendly vehicles, said MEA governor Arthorn Sinsawad.
