He is celebrated as a veteran couturier. His unique experiments with colourful fabrics have made him one of the biggest names in the bridal trousseau market. Indian designer J.J. Valaya is now marking 20 years of setting new trends in fashion capitals around the world.
J.J. Valaya offers a ready-to-wear label with prices starting at $400 while the couture label begins at $2,000, and one-off pieces cost $3,000 or more.
“When you wear a Valaya original, you are expected to naturally possess fine taste, respect for culture and a considerable amount of chutzpah. I think it’s important to create fashion that will shock as well as to inspire,” he says.
