Agencies urged to wrap up contracts

State agencies are required to settle their construction contracts by this month, as the government is accelerating disbursement of fiscal 2012.

Deputy prime minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong said the government is worried about delayed disbursement of the fiscal budget, warning that any state agencies failing to settle their contracts this month will have to return the unspent money to the government.

The government has set a target of 72% disbursement of investment budget and 93% of regular budget in fiscal 2012 ending Sept 30.
