Bank of Thailand to ease rules on capital outflows

The Bank of Thailand will ease regulations on outbound capital flows next week to facilitate investment abroad by Thai companies and investors.
Deputy governor Pongpen Ruengvirayudh said policies call for deregulation to encourage increased capital outflows.
She acknowledged that progress has been slower than expected, resulting in pressure on the baht to appreciate as a result of capital inflows.
