Mövenpick chief stresses quality over quantity as he builds the Swiss brand in the region.

Jean Gabriel Peres might be one of the few chief executives in the hotel industry who has stayed with one chain for more than a decade — 13 years to be precise, with the Swiss hotel brand Mövenpick.

In a profession where executives expect to move every few years, whether to a new city or a new job, being in the same position for a long time might seem boring, but Mr Peres enjoys what he does.

The appeal for him is that he doesn’t face the stress forced by aggressive expansion projections, unlike some other hotel brands, despite the stiff competition, particularly in emerging markets.
