TFEX prepares for 12% trade uptick

The Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX), a subsidiary of the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET), expects trade to rise 12% to 50,000 contracts a day next year.

Kesara Manchusree, managing director of the TFEX, said trade volume has been increasing since last year because the exchange has continued to promote futures products trading heavily in both local and external markets.

Mrs Kesara said current total trading of 44,000 contracts a day (worth 22 billion baht) mainly consists of SET50 Index Futures (12 billion baht) and gold futures (8 billion baht).
