NC Coconut Co, a local exporter of coconuts with fragrant juice, has operated for more than a decade and until recently faced the headache of coconut juice leaking from plastic packaging.
With most of its revenue coming from exports, the company also could not solve the problem of a short shelf life of only two weeks, said managing director Narongsak Chuensuchon.
"I was told by my coconut supplier about a plastic product solution provided by Design Catalyst (DC) of SCG Chemicals," said Mr Narongsak, referring to the wholly-owned petrochemical unit of Siam Cement Group.
