Applications for Board of Investment (BoI) privileges totalled 862 billion baht in the first 10 months, up by 94.1% from 444 billion in the same period last year.
Udom Wongviwatchai, secretary-general of the BoI, said the number of projects rose by 25% to 1,757, underscoring investor confidence in Thailand's prospects.
Services and utilities accounted for the biggest share by value, with 478 projects worth a combined 254 billion baht. This was followed by metals, machinery and transportation tools at 438 projects worth 203 billion baht, chemicals, paper and plastics with 229 projects worth 182 billion, electronics and electrical appliances at 226 projects worth 107 billion and agriculture and agricultural goods at 235 projects worth 65 billion.
