Adobe cements local focus

The Asean Economic Community will be a boon for document management software as it can help promote higher cross-border transactions in the region, says a software developer.

The software can help companies keep their documents secure, said Vicky Skipp, Southeast Asia regional director of Adobe System Incorporated, a global maker of creative design tools and document management software. Its products include Acrobat, Photoshop Elements and Flash.

International Data Corporation (IDC) research in September reported large organisations could lose up to US$15 million a year if they keep using substandard electronic document solutions. Substandard software takes time to load files and has frequent failures in obtaining and sending messages, which could waste up to six hours per week, the study noted.
