Siam Commercial Bank will begin expanding its footprint across the region in anticipation of greater business opportunities and competitive pressures with the launch of the Asean Economic Community in 2016.
Executive chairman Vichit Suraphongchai said the move to expand across the region is being driven by both rising demand from Thai companies as well as competition.
"A full range of financial services under the universal banking model as well as a regional presence are the two key factors," he said.
