Samui airport unaffected by power cut

Samui International Airport has been operating normally with no impact from the power outage on Samui and Phangan resort islands in the Gulf of Thailand that began on Tuesday.

Flights and passenger traffic through the privately owned airport, Thailand's sixth-busiest airport, have continued as usual, officials of Bangkok Airways, which runs the airport, said yesterday.

Like other airports, Samui has its own power generators to run its facilities. It also has supply from the submarine electricity cable that delivers electricity from the mainland to both islands.
