LPN envisions Rangsit behemoth

Over 10,000 units for 'mega township'

The SET-listed L.P.N. Development Plc (LPN) plans to launch 13 condominiums and five townhouse projects worth 22 billion baht combined, aiming for sales growth of 20% to reach 20 billion baht in 2013.

One of the new condo projects will sit on a 100-rai site in the Rangsit Klong 1 area and encompass 50 buildings with over 10,000 units, on the scale of Muang Thong Thani. The project will be launched in the second quarter.

"The Rangsit project will be developed as a mega township community offering services through our partner CP All," said managing director Opas Sripayak.

The traffic at Rangsit Klong 1 is overcrowded to the point of long commute times each morning. The lack of zoning and planning is incredible. Highway 305 leading into Rangist Klong 1 is already massively over capacity. The addition of all these units will do nothing but create unmanageable traffic gridlock for the people. We see a whole article of budgets and profits for the builder at the expense of ALL the motorists that need to use this infrastructure to get to work. Thailand needs to wake up to the fact you cannot continue to build on an existing infrastructure that is already massively overcrowded.
