Tesco Lotus goes back to school

Learning centre lets adults brush up on life skills and school subjects.

One of the most startling realisations for parents helping their children with homework is discovering that their own grasp of simple school subjects has dwindled over time.

Hoping to fill this void, Tesco Lotus has introduced its first community learning centre in Bangkok, where parents and interested persons can brush up on primary school subjects and enhance life skills through a wide array of courses offered free of charge.

"Our research found that the needs were not for children as such, but rather parents who wanted to brush up on school knowledge in order to help their children with homework," said Charkrit Direkwattanachai, Tesco's head of public affairs.
