Consumer confidence up in Dec

The consumer confidence index for the overall economy went up from 69.4 points reported in November to 70.6 points in December, the Economic and Business Forecasting Centre at the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce reported. 

Thanavath Phonvichai, the centre's director, said on Thursday that consumer confidence was at the highest in  15 months, since October 2011.

Mr Thanavath said confidence in job opportunity for the month rose to 71.7 points and confidence in future income also went up to 98.3 points.
