Exim Bank paints a rosy picture of export growth

Thai exports are projected to increase by at least 8% on the recovery of the world's major economies and preparations for regional integration by Asean countries. 

The upcoming Asean Economic Community will boost consumption and investment in the region, Kanit Sukonthaman, president of the Export-Import Bank of Thailand (Exim Bank), said yesterday.

Export growth this year will also be buoyed by increased post-flood industrial production and higher farm prices on the back of global commodities speculation, he said.
