Business model 'aimed at market domination'

Some 150 small and medium-sized cable TV operators are voicing opposition to the strict business model of newly established Cable Thai Holding (CTH), saying they are worried about the company's growing dominance.

They have banded together as the Assembly of Cable TV Operators (ACO), with members from Bangkok and the surrounding area, Chiang Mai, Chon Buri, Udon Thani and Phuket.

Nuttachai Arksorndit, the chief executive of MSS Cable TV Co in Pathum Thani province, said the ACO will call on CTH to revise its "harsh" business model, which is aimed at attracting small cable operators and content providers to join its nationwide network.
