Manufacturers plan power cut back

Members of the Federation of Thai Industries will meet next week to discuss implementing measures to deal with a possible energy shortage in early April, FTI chairman Payungsak Chartsuthipol said on Friday.
Mr Payungsak on Thursday met Energy Minister Pongsak Raktapongpaisal to discuss the problem.
He said it was agreed that manufacturers would temporary halt production lines on Friday April 5, the day the government projects electricity use will peak with the possibility of blackouts. Industry production would resume on April 7.
