I really cannot understand why this should be front page headline news. It amounts to free favorable publicity for three of the most unhealthy food products of our time. A small can of cola contains at least seven spoonfuls of sugar or, alternatively, chemical substitutes for sugar which may prove even more harmful to health in the long run. Parents who drink this muck and allow and encourage their children to become addicted should be ashamed of themselves. With obesity and sugar diabetes emerging as real problems in Thailand, the younger generation needs to be weaned not only off cola, but also sugar-packed sodas and fruit drinks.

"We aim to double our sales to 60 billion baht by 2020, with Coca-Cola doubling"
lets not be too optimistic, so if the govt. imposes sugar taxes on soda's, prohibiting sales in schools,
constant price increases due in part of obesity health issues especially in youth, etc.
I would think the long range plan needs to be revised down.

Business and marketing is so easy to figure out in this country. Pay off the rich aristocracy that controls distribution and is closest to the gov't - and you win. Marketing - just hire a soap opera star to carry the brand - and you win. No real competition - and Thais suffer by paying higher prices than needed for less selection and choice......
