Thailand's furniture exports may experience flat growth this year if the baht appreciates to 28 to the US dollar, say exporters.
Under the current rate, 29.50 to 29.60 baht to the dollar, members of the Thai Furniture Club remain confident they can reach their goal of US$1.14 billion in exports this year, up by 5% from 2012.
Club chairman Verachai Kunavichayanont said the industry contracted by 1.5% in 2011 due to the global crisis, but this year a volatile baht is the concern.
