No rise in fuel tariff this year

The fuel tariff in electricity bills will be maintained at 52.04 satang per megawatt-hour for the rest of this year thanks mainly to the appreciation of the baht, says the Energy Regulatory Commission.

Chairman Direk Lavansiri said the tariff will be unchanged in the second and third rounds of revision due to take effect in May and September.

He attributed the stronger baht and the expected significant saving of energy over the coming summer as reasons for maintaining the rate.
