SET up 0.64 points to 1,301.62 at noon

The Stock Exchange of Thailand main index inched up 0.05%, or 0.64 points, to 1,301.62 at noon of Monday.

Total trading value was 21.76 billion baht, with 5.49 billion shares changed hands.

SET50 index fell 0.08%, or 0.66 points, to 825.55 in trade worth 16.12 billion baht. 

MAI gained 0.27%, or 1.39 points, to 507.38 in transaction value of 350.43 million baht.

Bloomberg reported on Monday Airports of Thailand Plc (AOT) has overtaken Siam Cement Pcl by market value, making the operator of the country’s main aviation centres No. 2 behind only oil company PTT Plc.

AOT, now more than $15 billion, rallied as tourist arrivals have beaten forecasts, boosting revenue from passenger handling and at its retail stores.

Siam Cement, founded in 1913 following a decree by King Rama VI, this month promoted Roongrote Rangsiyopash as president and chief executive officer.

True Corp, the third-biggest mobile phone operator, dropped the most in more than a year after announcing a plan to raise 60 billion baht by selling new shares in a rights offering.

The shares slid as much as 12 percent, the biggest intraday decline since December 2014, to 6.25 baht before closing the morning session at 6.50 baht.

True plans to issue 15 billion new shares at a par value of four baht each, according to its regulatory filing. The proceeds from the sale, whose offering price will be set later, will be used to repay existing loans and invest in its mobile business.

The company, controlled by billionaire Dhanin Chearavanont, won two mobile phone licences in auctions in November and December by offering a total of 116 billion baht. It will use funds from new share sales, loans, bonds and operating cash flows to finance the payment of new license costs, according to its statement on Monday.

The carrier is 18%-owned by China Mobile Ltd, the world’s largest wireless operator by users.
