The Gold Traders Association this morning announced buying prices at 19,980.88 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments and 20,350 baht per baht-weight for gold bar.
Selling prices were set at 20,950 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments, and 20,450 baht per baht-weight for gold bar.
This means gold prices were up 50 baht from Friday’s close.
Buying prices on Friday closed at 19,980.88 baht per baht-weight for gold ornaments and 20,350 baht per baht-weight of gold bar.
Selling prices closed at 20,950 baht, per baht-weight for gold ornaments, and 20,450 baht per baht-weight for gold bar.
According to Reuters, gold saw big gains in the global market as a risk-off sentiment and concerns about political uncertainty took hold, with spot gold rising to its highest since May 1.
"We have had the political noise coming from Trump and the U.S. administration and there is a certain element of uncertainty in the markets in general, which is supporting gold. Equities are also down," analyst Carsten Menke at Julius Baer in Zurich said.
Spot gold added 0.9 percent to $1,267.00 an ounce. U.S. gold futures gained 0.82 percent to $1,266.70 an ounce.
