A general election and continued economic growth as businesses expand will drive the advertising industry this year, says the head of the Advertising Association of Thailand.
President Chaipranin Visudhipol expects the industry will grow 12% this year after posting an 11.8% rise to more than 100 billion baht in media spending last year. The 2010 growth was the best in five years, even though political unrest in the second quarter dented earnings.
Property, automobile and consumer products industries should be among the top spenders this year.
