Workers urged to build analytics skills
Thailand could shift more towards a service-based economy in a global marketplace if it developed advanced analytics skills and capabilities among the workforce, says a global business analytics software vendor.Mikael Hagstrom, president of SAS Institute Inc, said governments such as Thailand's needed to reduce the risk of relying heavily on manufacturing where price competition and lower costs are key elements.
Instead, he suggested, authorities should shift the focus to exporting services by developing people skills in advanced analytics in particular.
Business analytics software has become an important strategic tool for companies that need to make better and faster decisions.
