Toyota: Rebate just a blip

Toyota has no plans to expand its car and pickup plants in response to artificial demand created by the government's tax incentive for first-time car buyers.
"The higher demand is just temporary since the scheme lasts only one year," said a senior executive at Toyota Motor Thailand.
All of Toyota's plants _ Samrong in Samut Prakan, Gateway and Ban Pho in Chachoengsao _ currently are running at full capacity daily to cope with rising demand abroad and at home, especially for back orders left after the carmaker suspended production in the wake of Japan's earthquake and tsunami in March.
