Local car production in November fell to a nearly 13-year low as the massive floods forced carmakers to down tools, says the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) auto industry club.
If production in December amounts to 50,000 vehicles, as is pessimistically predicted, the industry will build 1.4 million units in 2011 _ falling short of 2010's 1.65 million and badly missing this year's target of 1.8 million.
Club spokesman Surapong Phaisitpattanapong said domestic sales fell to a nearly 10-year low of 26,069 units in November, down 67% year-on-year and 39% from October.
