Car rebate scheme to include flood buys

The Finance Ministry has announced plans to allow flood victims who buy a new car to replace a damaged one the same excise tax rebate as participants in the first-time buyer scheme.
Benja Louischaroen, director-general of the Excise Department, said the proposal will be submitted for cabinet approval at today's meeting.
Eligibility will be valid regardless of whether the damage is marginal or severe, she said.
