Toyota is planning a new 7-billion-baht factory at Chachoengsao's Gateway Industrial Estate to meet growing demand at home and abroad.
The Japanese carmaker will also spend 1.2 billion baht to retool the Thai Auto Works (TAW) factory in Samut Prakan to restore production after temporarily halting in May 2010.
The new investment underlined Toyota's confidence in Thailand despite its month-plus local shutdown as floods disrupted the local parts supply.
