Most Thai food businesses unprepared for AEC start

A survey conducted by the National Food Institute (NFI) indicated that most Thai food business operators are still not ready to cope with the Asean Economic Community slated for 2015.
The survey conducted May 8-25 involved 78 food manufacturers, of which 15 are small businesses, 17 are mid-sized and 46 are large. It found 55% of the operators surveyed are not ready, though 45% say they are well prepared.
Some 83% of the small Thai food operators surveyed were not ready for the AEC.
