People can now check their credit status in real time at 121 branches of Thailand Post nationwide. The service will later be expanded to cover all 13,000 branches.

The free service follows the collaboration between Thailand Post and the National Credit Bureau.

Samorn Terdthampiboon, president of Thailand Post, said people can access Credit Bureau information by inserting their ID card into a card-reading device at the post office to check their credit status. A brief credit status report will be printed within a minute.

However, if people need to trace back information for three or six months, or yearly, they have to pay up to 150 baht and wait seven days. The bureau will send the report to the customer's home address.

Mrs Samorn said Thailand Post plans to expand the service to all 1,300 branch offices nationwide in response to customer demand.

The move is to help people access their financial credit and support the digital economy policy.
