Show DC Corporation is putting the finishing touches on its soon-to-open shopping and entertainment mega-complex on Rama IX Road, which is set to boast the world's largest Korean District (K-District) outside of Korea.

The project is 90% complete and will officially open on Nov 18 after an investment of 9.5 billion baht. The attraction aims to draw 100,000 visitors a day.

Show DC chairman Chayaditt Hutanuwatra said the company has partnered with South Korean retailer Mall of Korea to open the largest ever foreign "Koreatown" on the premises.

"We want to differentiate ourselves from other retail chains in Thailand and thrive with high profits," he said.

K-District has 18,000 square metres of space, offering a mix of entertainment, shopping and dining.

Shops operated by celebrities will include Psy Noodle House by "Gangnam Style" rapper Psy, After the Rain by legendary singer Rain and Brick Cafe by boy band BTS.

Moreover, K-District will feature an acting and talent academy, plastic surgery clinics, cosmetics shops and food imported from South Korea.

Mr Chayaditt said 93% of the space at Show DC has already been leased.

YG Entertainment, the South Korean entertainment company behind global K-pop sensations such as Big Bang, Psy, and 2NE1, will also operate a K-pop cultural and entertainment park, while Show DC will allocate 5,000 sq m of rooftop space for bars and clubs.

Apart from K-District, Show DC also boasts sophisticated entertainment offerings, including a 5,000-person capacity performance hall and a 1,500-seat Sports Arena.

It also boasts "Himmapan Avatar", an immersive, walk-through cultural performance that brings Thai legends to life using the most advanced light, sound and holographic technologies.

Mr Chayaditt also said there will be Thai Market selling Thai products including food, sweets, fruits, herbs and wellness products.

"We hope Show DC will break even within seven years," he said.

Show DC is spending 300 million baht on public relations activities to entice Thais and foreigners alike to visit.
