Third-ranked mobile operator Total Access Communication (DTAC) will select 24 contributors for its community website (community.dtac.co.th) to share their experiences with other DTAC customers online.

Dubbed "Super D Heroes", the 24 contributors can collect points to enjoy privileges the more they engage with the online community.

The move is aimed at boosting DTAC's brand and product engagement with customers through its online community.

The online community platform is a powerful channel for building positive relationships with customers, said Piero Trivellato, senior vice-president and head of DTAC's digital sales and services department.

Similar to other operators, DTAC has several digital channels, applications, and Line and Facebook platforms, which have more than 37 million followers. However, platforms that support online community interactions seems to be the most effective way to foster exchanges among customers, he said.

From January to June 2017, there were 10 contributors in the DTAC community of 2.8 million users, with 100,000 topics discussed.

"We were the first mobile operator that created a platform for the online customer community," Mr Trivellato said.

Launched in December 2014, the website allows customers to post and share their experiences about DTAC products and services and the company has adapted the existing channel to be an effective channel for customer engagement.

"Customer networking through the community website is cost-effective for the company, compared with other marketing activities, and is effective for building customer engagement," he said.
