Facebook enjoys strong millennial buzz

Facebook is the most positively talked about brand among Thai millennials, followed closely by AirAsia and 7-Eleven.

International marketing agency YouGov polled Thais aged 18-34 on whether they had discussed particular brands in the past two weeks and whether the discussion was positive or negative.

The e-commerce site Lazada came in fourth, followed by KFC, Shopee, Mama and Line. Adidas just edged out Nike for ninth on the list.

"Younger Thais love Facebook and are likely to talk about the social network with their friends," said Ervin Ha, YouGov Asia-Pacific's head of data products. "It's also noteworthy that millennials in Thailand are speaking favourably about brands that cater to convenience -- be it e-commerce platforms that deliver to your doorstep, or instant noodles."

The survey results also show which brands have improved their image in the eyes of millennials. Smartphone maker Xiaomi and Domino's Pizza topped that list, followed by Makro Food Service and Home Fresh Mart.
