General Motors Co is recalling nearly 500,000 Chevrolet Cruzes, its best-selling car model in the United States last year, to correct a problem that could lead to engine fires.
The recall affects 475,418 cars sold in the US, Canada and Israel. They were all assembled at a plant in Lordstown, Ohio, between September 2010 and May 2012.
The Cruze is also built at the GM plant in Rayong, Thailand, and has been a big seller in the local market.
