Inflation for September rose by 3.38% year-on-year on the back of rising food and beverage prices, according to the Commerce Ministry.
Last month's consumer price index stood at 108.77 points, an increase of 0.34% from August. The index rose 2.69% year-on-year in August.As a result, the inflation rate for the first nine months of the year was 2.94%, said Vatchari Vimooktayon, the new permanent secretary for commerce.
