Banpu confident of overturning ruling

Banpu Plc, one of Asean's biggest coal miners, plans to appeal the Civil Court's verdict on the Hongsa power venture by early next year and says the ruling has had no impact on loans and construction.
Chief executive Chanin Vongkusolkit yesterday said Banpu's management discussed the appeal with lawyers and was satisfied with the evidence gathered to fight the ruling.
"With the evidence that we have, the company is confident we have grounds to convert the verdict," he said.
