Thailand Post is expanding its large parcel international delivery service from seven to 32 countries with the launch of Logispost World, and is targeting exporters as major customers.
Parisa Pananon, Thailand Post director for marketing communication, said the expanded service aimed to support exporters shipping large items, between 20 and 200 kgs, such as OTOP products, furniture and home decorations.
She said Thailand Post's air shipping service is now available to an additional 25 countries, up from seven. Destinations include Vietnam, South Korea, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, China, Japan, Germany, Italy, Canada, Australia, France, Switzerland, UK, USA and New Zealand. Delivery is guaranteed within 7-10 days and could be tracked 24-hours through www.thailandpost.co.th.
Fees would be calculated from the package weight and destination.
The service is now available at 82 Thailand Post outlets across the country, including Laksi, Taling Chan and Ratchadamnoen branches in Bangkok, Samut Prakan, Pathum Thani, Saraburi, Chon Buri, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Chiang Mai and Phuket provinces.
Ms Parisa said that over the past decade, Thailand Post had been trying to improve its service to meet customers' needs. Logispost World is also set up in preparation for the Asean Economic Community's launch in December 2015.
Packages will be sent out on more than 30 outbound international flights daily. It would be convenient and cost-effective for businesses.
Among the most popular destinations were Australia, China, Japan, the USA and the UK.
