Ministry to upsize cigarette warnings

- +

Health warnings on packets of cigarettes are to be enlarged to cover 85% of the packaging.

The regulation is at the drafting stage but will be implemented soon, Public Health Minister Pradit Sintanawarong said on Sunday.

By law, cigarette packets must carry photographs of smoking-related diseases and textual warnings. The current regulation demands a minimum of 55% of the packet be taken up with health warnings.
