Myanmar gas cutback a worry

CHIANG MAI - The supply of natural gas from Myanmar will be disrupted again from April 4-12 when electricity demand peaks at the height of the hot season, says the energy minister.

Pongsak Raktapongpaisal said energy policymakers would meet in the next two weeks to discuss the expected disruption.

About 25% of Thailand's gas supply comes from Myanmar, amounting to 1.1 billion cubic feet per day. Overall, Thailand consumes 4.2 billion to 4.4 billion cubic feet per day.

Disc 4, lookmoo.,,,,Solar cells are an excellent idea, because any excess power not used can be sold back through the grid.
The downside is the cost. A minimum of 10 each 200 watt cells and an inverter to convert 24 volt DC to 220 volts AC, which would be enough for a small home would be very expensive. I doubt if it would pay for its self over 4 years.

Solar panels should be a obvious alternative for some consumers..

Disc 1, The Dark Side.....Why do you put the blame onto the Thais ? The scheduled maintenance is being done by Petronas and Total who have probably only just promulgated the programme. The CEO from PTT is trying for a delay to the maintenance and at the same time planning to improvise. I would say he is doing a wonderful job for a third world country, wouldn't you ?

Sounds like once again (as always) people running Thai companies need to get their brains reorganized so they can think pro-actively not re-actively. This is a common problem in many 3 world countries.
