At least 30 property projects in Khao Yai worth over 50 billion baht have rushed to seek environmental impact assessment (EIA) approval before Nakhon Ratchasima's new provincial plan imposes regulatory changes.
Theadsak Boontos, managing director of condo developer K.D. Asset & Development Co, said the huge number of projects seeking EIA approval run the gamut of sizes and styles.
"Many landlords with large plots in Khao Yai are trying to get construction permits as soon as possible before the new provincial plan is announced in May 2013, no matter whether they will develop the project or not," he said.
