Phatra Securities, a unit of the Phatra-Kiatnakin Financial Group, plans to offer the first two-year investment derivative warrants (iDWs) today in a bid to target long-term investors.
In fact, the firm has tested the market by offering 15 series of one-year DWs over the past three months, with a good response from clients. Seven series of two-year iDWs are planned for offer today.
"We've seen DW products grow rapidly in recent years, and there remains potential for further expansion, as the trading value of DWs is only about 1%, while it is 14% of the bourse's trading in Hong Kong," said assistant managing director Nopadon Nimmanpipak.
