SET ends narrowly down following glitch

- +

The collapse of the online stock trading system during the last 20-minute trading period yesterday was caused by hardware malfunctions, says the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET).

President Charamporn Jotikasthira said the computer system glitch was beyond control. The SET will solve the problem and seek ways to prevent a repeat in the future.

Thai shares posted a small loss as punters and window-dressing activity nearly offset a foreign investor sell-off and helped the market close above the psychological 1,400-point level.
